CHRONIC PAIN

Having chronic pain is not for the faint of heart.  It is the monkey on your back, that black hole, the all consuming nightmare that is with you.  Giving it a name:  “Pain” or owning it: “My pain” only sets you back.  It then takes on a life of its own. These are constant themes that all people who have chronic pain have lived.lighteing clouds

Many times an injury is gone but the tissue cannot let go so pain can linger.   People spend years trying to find out what is causing their discomfort and all out pain.  Once they do, it is a matter of constant research because they soon realize that they need to.  Trial and error.  Figure out what works and when and keep moving.   Research. Get your tool box together.  Experiment. The answers will appear.  The body can heal.  It does require patience and knocking on doors.  And listening.  But it does and can get better.  I have lived it and I understand it.  Structural Integration can unravel the tissue to the source and peel off layers of stuck tissue.  The more we can unwind, stretch and open up different layers that lead to the core, we discover a person who is no longer stuck in their bodies, stuck in pain.  This is worth the work.

Well-being? What Does It Mean?

Let me help you reclaim your sense of well-being.

Well-being meaning that sense of feeling good, your whole being feeling good, physically, mentally and spiritually.

I find once a body is able to achieve one of those qualities, the rest will follow.  Feeling good brings on positivity, creativity, flexibility, mental stimulation…living, not just surviving or same old, same old.

Give yourself, during this transition into Spring, the gift of feeling good, being active, able to push back time to a place where you feel good again.  I can help you with that.

My door is open for Structural Integration, Reiki and Scar therapy, all of which can help bring your body back to stasis, to that happy place….Remember it?

Feel Good!

Just Breathe

The breath is so important.  Breathing, really breathing  in from the top of your head to your tailbone and even to the bottoms of your feet.  Breathing oxygen into your system keeps it alive.  Breathing out moves the co2 from the body.  In between the process of breathing in and breathing out, many things happen.

It is important to breath in of course and equally important to breathe out.  Don’t hold your breath.  Deep breathing, whole system sustained breathing, carries a wealth of benefits.

Breathing is important in meditation.  Breathe in love. Breathe out hate.  Breathe in peace. Breathe out chaos.  Breathe in energy.  Breathe out tension.  What if however, this process is hindered?

When I work on the breath of my clients, I help the tissues in their ribs, diaphragm and back  expand.  ‘Opening the breath’ means opening the thoracic area to enable the mechanism of breathing to occur.  It is difficult to breathe deeply if your body isn’t capable of expanding in order to do so.  Once this expansion occurs, breathing becomes easier and depth of breath occurs.  Breathing down into your sacrum resets your system.  You are able to and are allowing your body to breathe.  Taking breath in so the oxygen and co2 can work together before breathing out.
