ALZHEIMER’S FROM SLEEP DISORDERS

Alzheimer’s disease is a complex condition with many underlying causes – Dr Dale Bresden likens these factors to 36 holes in a roof – there’s no point in fixing just one. Sleeping disorders can play a big part in the development of Alzheimer’s, so it’s worthwhile exploring exactly why – and what you can do about it.

October 2nd is Global Airway Health Day. Airway-Centered Disorder, or ACD, is a structural and physiological condition of the mouth, jaw, nasal passages, tongue, or throat that involves an obstruction of the upper airways, which can affect breathing 24 hours a day – including and especially during sleep.

ACD is a “hidden” airway problem, and when not recognized, the expressions of the ACD are treated and the underlying disorder remains – to be expressed yet again in another form.

It is important to get screened for an Airway-centered disorder, and this screening quiz is a good place to start in addition to making an appointment at our office. We invite you to become an airway advocate, and champion the recognition, diagnosis, and treatment of airway-related disorders.

Did you Know?

Did you know??

The fascial system is our largest sensory organ in terms of gross surface area?

The quantity and richness of nerve endings in fascia is equal to that of both our sight and hearing.

Fascia continually contracts at the rate of 8-12 cycles per minute.

The miracle happens when this tissue becomes malleable.  Constrictions release.  The body becomes more at ease.  Pliable.  Easy. Free.

No body is ever ‘finished’…There is always another ‘layer’…

We want to be finished with any body work we do as if we will be perfect after a session or two.

What we do not realize is how much we use our bodies each day.

Forms change.  After balancing one layer, the other layers underneath are revealed,  which may be even more twisted than the prior layer. Working off these layers builds a more balanced body.  You pair down, layer by layer, clearing and balancing the body.

It’s like this tree.  Perfect!  Perfectly in bloom, balanced.

Below the beautiful foliage is the next area, which can be twisted, as these limbs are, that can become more balanced.  This goes layer by layer then like the rings of the tree.
